Stake Casino Canada: The Licence It Won't Print
In short — our verdict: 6.3/10 — Stake.com is a Curacao-licensed casino that prints no licence number on the pages we could read. We found the licence anyway, by company number 145353: OGL/2024/1451/0918, with the status Assessment in progress.
Two Canadian province names sit in Stake's Prohibited Jurisdictions clause, Alberta and Ontario, and the word Canada appears nowhere in the document. That is the whole of what this operator says about Canadian players, so the rest of this page comes from the regulator's register instead.

6.3/ 10 transparency
- Licence & trust7.5
- Payment transparency5.0

What this measures: how much this operator publishes and how much of it we could verify against its own pages and the licence register — not how good the casino is. A criterion the operator does not publish scores five, not zero. the full test method lists every criterion and its weight.
- The paperwork does exist: company number 145353 leads to licence OGL/2024/1451/0918 in the regulator's own register.
- Two provinces get named outright, Alberta and Ontario, so a reader in either one has an answer rather than a maybe.
- Native ETH goes in, and the mechanics stay with the operator: chain, confirmation count, withdrawal minimum and fee are all withheld.
- Its provably fair page names the three stages a check needs: Unhash Server Seed, Calculation and Game Events.

What Stake Says About Canada
Nothing, as a country.

Clause 14.3 of the terms of service names what the document calls the Prohibited Jurisdictions, and two Canadian province names stand in that list beside whole nations: Alberta and Ontario. We searched the document for the string canada and found zero occurrences, against one for ontario. A reader in Alberta or Ontario therefore has a plain answer. A reader in Quebec, Manitoba or British Columbia has silence, which is a different thing from permission.
The clause is blunt about what follows. Those persons "are not permitted make use of the Service", and the missing word belongs to the operator; we have left it where we found it. Why that pair of provinces and not the rest, Stake declines to say, and we would rather leave the question open than answer it for the operator.
The Number Stake Does Not Print
The licence number is the one thing Stake never prints, and the footer, the terms of service and the policy pages we read all leave it out. What the footer gives instead is a company: Medium Rare NV, registration number 145353, registered address Seru Loraweg 17 B, Curacao, with a Curacao seal drawn in CSS, and that is the whole licensing paragraph. Two further companies appear as bare names, Medium Rare Limited and MRS Tech Limited. So we went the other way round and searched the regulator by company number rather than by licence number.
Row 194 of the Curacao Gaming Authority register holds licence OGL/2024/1451/0918 against Medium Rare NV, type B2C, registration 145353, issued . That is a confirmation, and it is also the quiet point of this page: the licence is checkable, yet only through a route a reader is unlikely to try.
One caveat, and it is ours rather than Stake's. The terms route renders in the browser, so a licence number could sit on a page our session failed to receive. We looked for one and came back empty.
The ETH Detail Stops Here
Native ETH is accepted, and that is the last documented thing about it. The terms we read leave out the deposit chain, the confirmation count, the withdrawal minimum and the operator fee. Clause 7.8 is the one that hurts anybody trying to plan a transfer: the minimum deposit is whatever Stake sets "at its own discretion", and it "can be changed at all time at Stake's discretion".
Set that beside Cloudbet, the only operator of the eight that prices each chain it credits. mBit Casino names one protocol, ERC-20, and calls every other one unsupported. Stake leaves that field blank, which means the most expensive mistake in crypto gambling, sending ETH over the wrong chain, goes undocumented here.
KYC at Any Time, No Threshold
Clause 4.8 reserves the right to ask for documents "at any time" and to restrict service, payment or withdrawal "in Stake's sole discretion". Clause 8.12 adds further verification for any withdrawal. Both clauses skip the sum and skip the event, so a reader is left guessing whether a first payout clears or waits.
Shuffle.com, by contrast, commits in writing to a check before a first withdrawal. Discretion differs from a rule you can read beforehand, and the transparency score on this page treats it as half a mark rather than a pass.
Stake's Three Weak Spots
Three gaps, and the first one costs real money. The deposit chain is unpublished, so a reader who sends ETH over a chain that worked somewhere else has only habit to go on. The confirmation count is unpublished too, and that is the figure deciding whether a credit lands in a minute or an hour. The rollover resists being written down as a number: Stake sets "the wager requirement at a 4% edge", which is candid about the mechanics while leaving a player unable to name the figure in advance.

The provably fair page explains more than it enables. Our capture names the three stages the arithmetic needs, then stops there. We counted 17 inputs on it and read what each one does. All 17 are radio buttons for the page language, Arabic to Vietnamese, and a seed box is absent. Stake publishes the arithmetic while the tool to run it stays missing, which is where the other four published pages also end up.
Readers We'd Steer Away
We do not recommend Stake to a player in Alberta or Ontario, and that is the operator's call rather than ours: clause 14.3 names both provinces. Elsewhere in Canada the honest answer is thinner. The licence resolves in the register, the operating company is named with a number, and the fair-play page explains the algorithm without offering a box to check a round in, though every figure a deposit actually depends on is missing from the site.
If the deposit chain and the confirmation count matter to you, Cloudbet publishes its chains while Stake leaves the field empty.
Before You Send ETH to a Casino
Search the Curacao register by the company number before you send anything, because 145353 is what Stake actually prints in place of a licence. That is the first of three steps, and the whole routine takes about five minutes. Second, read clause 14.3 and look for your own province in it. Third, ask support in writing how many confirmations a deposit needs, and keep the reply, since the terms leave the figure out.
If all three routes close on you, treat the deposit as unplannable and send an amount you would be willing to write off.

Key Terms Used on This Page
- Assessment in progress
- The status printed beside licence OGL/2024/1451/0918 in the Curacao register, whose own web page warns that its overviews do not guarantee current validity.
- Prohibited Jurisdictions
- The defined term in clause 14.3; Alberta and Ontario stand in that list, and the word Canada stands nowhere in the document.
- Sole discretion
- The phrase clause 4.8 uses in place of a KYC threshold, meaning the operator picks the moment rather than publishing a rule.
- Network confirmations
- Blocks added after a transfer before an operator credits it; Stake leaves the figure out, so the wait stays unplannable.
This site takes no deposits and runs no identity checks; both stay off it entirely.
What Else Do Readers Ask?
Readers ask the same three things about Stake: which Canadians it turns away, where the licence number is, and how long an ETH deposit takes to land. The answers below come from its own terms first and the Curacao register second.
Does Stake accept players from Canada?
No, not in Alberta or Ontario, the two provinces listed in clause 14.3. Canada itself is absent from the document, so other provinces go unaddressed.
Where is Stake's licence number?
The licence number appears nowhere we could read it, so we worked backwards: the Curacao register holds OGL/2024/1451/0918 under company number 145353.
Does the register say the licence is valid?
No. The status column reads Assessment in progress, the expiry column shows , and the register states that it guarantees nothing about current validity.
How many confirmations does a Stake deposit need?
Confirmations stay unpublished across every page we read. Ask support in writing before depositing, since the terms omit the figure entirely and the help article went missing.
What is the minimum ETH deposit?
Minimum deposits sit at the operator's own discretion under clause 7.8 and can change at any time, so the figure stays unpublished.
Is Stake registered in Ontario?
No. The iGaming Ontario directory returned no match for the brand, and the Kahnawake holder list has no record either.
What does the provably fair page offer?
An explanation in three stages, and a verifier is missing. The 17 inputs on it switch the page language, leaving nowhere to enter a seed.
How do we test an operator?
We read its own terms and footer, then search the licence register by number, the Ontario directory and the Kahnawake list.
