Ethereum vs Bitcoin Casino Deposits: 4 Routes Compared
In short: Ethereum is one ticker with four possible networks at Cloudbet, and Bitcoin arrives on two networks at the same operator. That difference, not the reputation of either coin, is what loses deposits: none of the eight operators we read publishes its confirmation count.
Cloudbet lists ETH on four networks, mBit Casino takes it on exactly one, and the other six name no network at all. Here is what that means for a Canadian holding ETH, BTC or a stablecoin.

Alternatives in Detail
Why look for a replacement: One ticker, several networks: Cloudbet credits ETH on Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain and Base, so the same three letters mean four different addresses. mBit Casino accepts ERC-20 only and calls everything else unsupported, without saying what happens to coins sent on another protocol. Not one of the eight operators we read says how many confirmations it waits for before crediting a deposit.
Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin is the near-single-network option, priced by two operators of the eight and left blank by six.
Better than Ethereum
Cloudbet publishes a 0.00001 BTC minimum withdrawal, a deposit fee of 0 and a withdrawal fee of 0.00000216 BTC on the Bitcoin network
mBit Casino sets a 0.0001 BTC minimum deposit in its clause 3.5
Weaker
Cloudbet also credits BTC on BNB Smart Chain, so the one-chain simplicity is not absolute
Six of the eight print no BTC figure we could read, and none of the eight publishes a confirmation count
USDT or USDC on Ethereum
Stablecoins ride the Ethereum network and pay extra for it, and the extra buys a balance that does not drift.
Better than Ethereum
A token balance holds its value while the deposit confirms
Cloudbet prices USDT on Ethereum at a 0.1 minimum withdrawal and a 0.0383 fee, and USDC at a 2 minimum and a 0.0334 fee
Weaker
A token transfer runs contract code, so on the same network it cost 4.76 times a plain ETH payment in our 30-day scan, CAD 0.1503 against CAD 0.0316
Seven of the eight publish no token standard at all, and mBit Casino takes USDT without listing USDC among its currencies
Arbitrum or Base, Ethereum Layer 2
Layer 2 is a named, lower-fee route into one operator and an open question at the other seven.
Better than Ethereum
Cloudbet credits ETH on both and prints a separate withdrawal fee for each
Its minimum withdrawal stays 0.0002 ETH across all four of its networks
Weaker
Cloudbet is the only one of the eight that names a layer 2 at all, so sending to one elsewhere is guesswork
Its own figures moved between two reads on , which makes the table a live quote
BNB Smart Chain
BNB Smart Chain is a named option at one operator and an invisible risk at six others.
Better than Ethereum
Cloudbet names BNB Smart Chain among the four networks it credits for ETH and prices it in the same public table
A named network is a checkable network
Weaker
mBit Casino calls protocols other than ERC-20 unsupported but names no consequence for sending on one
Six of the eight name no network, so a BNB Smart Chain transfer there cannot be checked before you send
One Ticker, Four Ethereum Addresses
ETH is not one destination. Cloudbet credits it on Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain and Base. Each of those is a different deposit address with its own withdrawal fee. Send to the wrong one, and the operator never sees the money.
mBit Casino went the other way and cut the choice down to one. Its terms take ERC-20 only and call other protocols unsupported, and there they stop: the outcome of sending on another protocol is not described. Six of the eight name no network at all. That leaves a player guessing on the one decision nobody can reverse.
What a Stablecoin Costs You
A stablecoin costs more than plain ETH for the same transfer at the same moment. A USDT or USDC payment runs contract code that a bare ETH payment never touches, and that code is the extra cost. What it buys is a balance that holds still while the deposit confirms. We measured how much more. Over the 30 days to a median USDT or USDC transfer on Ethereum cost 0.000040421 ETH, or CAD 0.1503, which is 4.76 times a plain ETH transfer, because the token moves through 46,109 units of gas against 21,000 and its senders paid 0.8852 gwei per unit against 0.4101. That comes out of 43,682 token transfers in our own scan.
Only mBit Casino names a token standard for its Ethereum traffic, and that standard is ERC-20. The remaining seven name no standard at all, and six of those seven name no network either, so a stablecoin deposit at any of the six rests on support chat rather than on anything you can read first. Cloudbet is the exception: its public fee table lists USDT on seven networks and USDC on seven, Ethereum among them, with a minimum and a withdrawal fee against each.
Where Bitcoin Is Simply Shorter
Bitcoin has one mainnet. The network choice that loses ETH deposits barely exists there, though Cloudbet credits BTC on BNB Smart Chain as well as on Bitcoin, so even that choice is not quite single-file. The advantage is real and narrow.
Two of the eight do print BTC figures, and we had them in hand the whole time. The Cloudbet fee table we saved carries a BTC row on two networks, with a 0.00001 BTC minimum withdrawal in each, a deposit fee of 0, and a withdrawal fee of 0.00000216 BTC on Bitcoin against 0.0000000431 on BNB Smart Chain. mBit Casino lists BTC first among the nine currencies in its clause 3.1 and sets the minimum deposit at 0.0001 BTC in clause 3.5. The confirmation count stays missing for every coin at every one of the eight, and the other six print no BTC figure we could read.
The Rule Does Not Name a Coin
Ontario's standards draw no line between Bitcoin and Ethereum, because they mention neither. The crypto line sits in a note under Standard 5.69, in the deposits section of the Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming. It reads: "Cryptocurrency is not legal tender and shall not be accepted".

So the ETH-or-BTC question has no regulated answer in Ontario. Either coin puts the operator outside the registered market, which makes the choice between them a payments decision rather than a licensing one.
Neither Coin Is on the Directory
Neither coin gets a site onto the directory, because none of the eight we read appears in iGaming Ontario's listing at all. That listing counts 49 operators and 84 gaming websites. The page dates itself accurate as of , a month before we looked.

The directory publishes brands and products, though, not payment methods, so it cannot show you who refuses crypto. The refusal lives in the note under Standard 5.69; the directory only shows who is registered.
What None of Them Will Tell You
Confirmations decide whether a deposit lands in a minute or an hour. Not one of the eight publishes the number. This is not one careless footer. It is the same blank space in eight of them.

Detail
Operators read:
8, all on
Networks named for ETH:
4 by Cloudbet, 1 by mBit Casino
Confirmations published:
none of the eight
Minimum withdrawal published:
0.0002 ETH, by Cloudbet alone
Cloudbet's own figures move, too. The BNB Smart Chain withdrawal fee read 0.00000167 ETH in the page we saved and 0.00000166 ETH on the live page a few hours later, both on , which makes that table a live quote rather than a price list. The other three networks matched across both reads.
What the network itself charges is a separate figure from what an operator charges on top. We measured the network over 30 days rather than quoting a gas tracker. Keeping those two numbers apart is the difference between an honest deposit cost and a guess.
If You Are Deciding Right Now
Hold ETH and want the fees in writing before you send: Cloudbet is the only one of the eight that prints a fee per network. Hold a stablecoin and want the standard named: mBit Casino says ERC-20 and calls the rest unsupported, while Cloudbet prints a minimum and a fee for USDT and USDC on Ethereum instead. Hold BTC and want an operator's figures: Cloudbet prints a 0.00001 BTC minimum withdrawal and mBit Casino a 0.0001 BTC minimum deposit, and the other six print nothing we could read. And if your operator sits outside these eight, the move is the same for every coin. Ask support for the network and the confirmation count in writing, then keep the reply.
Key Terms Used on This Page
ERC-20
A token standard that rides the Ethereum network; mBit Casino names ERC-20 and calls other protocols unsupported.
Layer 2
A network that settles back to Ethereum; Cloudbet credits two of them, Arbitrum and Base, with a 0.0002 ETH minimum each.
Native ETH
Ether sent as a plain payment instead of inside a token contract; all 8 operators we read accept it.
Confirmation
A block added after the one carrying your transfer; 0 of 8 operators publishes how many it waits for.
BNB Smart Chain
A separate network Cloudbet names for ETH, with its own withdrawal fee of 0.00000166 ETH on .
This site takes no deposits and runs no identity checks; both stay off it entirely.
